Even though according to the Declaration of Independence, “all men are created equal,” the LGBT community still has to struggle for real equality. The LGBT is a minor community which gets wrongly judged by society. many LGBT representatives are forced to live life, which they cannot control. Discrimination is considered a permanent problem for those who belong to the LGBT community. When an individual realizes that his/her sexual preferences are different from those considered normal, he/she has problems with admitting such a fact. Some people start questioning their sexuality, some try to hide it so as not to be rejected by society. Many are not accepted by their family or even friends due to their gender identity or sexual orientation. Such situations cause serious problems in the LGBT community, which can lead to depression. That is why achieving equality seems like an impossible mission. The fact that people with untraditional orientation had to struggle to inform their parents about their orientation proves that LGBT members must overcome more obstacles to become open about their sexuality in public. Yet, the equality of the LGBT community remains under the pressure to date. The society starts seeing you as a different person and not who is .though the modern society has become more accepting during the last few years, the LGBT community still has to struggle for its equal rights because not all people are ready to accept the fact that sexual diversity is a norm. The Society advocates that individuals should be able to be proud of who they are, but they judge homosexuals for being different. Homosexuals are being discriminated in their own homes, workplace, and schools. Homophobia causes heterosexuals to believe that homosexuals are less worthy and therefore it is okay to treat them unfairly. People do not take into consideration the deep wounds they are causing gay individuals with their prejudices. Antigay prejudice and homophobia interfere with the dreams of many members of the LGBT community. People around the world face violence and inequality—and sometimes torture, even execution—because of who they love, how they look, or who they are. Sexual orientation and gender identity are integral aspects of our selves and should never lead to discrimination or abuse. We stay for a world where all people can enjoy their rights fully, please help make it happen.
